Vera Williams' Obituary
Vera Williams passed on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at her home in Walls, Mississippi. She was born in Clarendon, Arkansas on November 19, 1927, to the late Willie and Thelma Cook.
Vera lived much of her life in St. Louis, Missouri where she worked as a special education teacher and social worker for the state of Missouri before retiring in 1992. She later moved to the Memphis area where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter, Vera White and a very special son in law, Ray, of Walls, Mississippi; four sons, Darryl Welch, Sollie Welch, Bobby Williams, and Cedric Williams, all of St. Louis, Missouri; three sisters, Mattie Littlejohn of Conway, Arkansas, Nerlene Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, and Geraldine Turman of Chicago, Illinois; and 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Williams and a brother, Willie Cook, Jr.
