Velma Wray Bonhart's Obituary
Velma Wray Bonhart was born October 15, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the second of nine children born to James and Estelle Wray. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the age of 81 years young of natural causes.
Velma was baptized in the Catholic religion, remained steadfast in her faith, and attended the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, located in East Memphis. She was a graduate of St. Augustine Catholic School. Velma obtained an associate degree of Art from The Memphis Art Academy and an associate degree in engineering from Memphis State (University of Memphis).
Velma leaves to cherish her memories with two adult children, Vivian Owens and Thomas Richmond (Stephanie). Velma leaves five grandchildren, Little Velma (Kiasha), Maurice Jr., Matthew (Vivian), Victoria, and Desmond (Thomas), a Great Grandchild, Ian Fouse (little Velma), and God Daughter, Cicely Odom. Velma also leaves three sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
