Ursula Borenstein's Obituary
URSULA ‘’Uschi’’ EVA BORENSTEIN, died December 30, 2013 at Signature Healthcare Nursing Home at St. Francis after an extended illness. She was born in Breslau, formerly Germany, and emigrated to this county in the fifties with her husband, Sam Borenstein and her mother, Berta Fest. She worked for Dean Foods for many years as an accountant. She participated actively in community work by teaching at the Memphis Literacy Council and working for The Memphis Friendship Force. She was also a founding member of The Germania Club of Memphis. In addition, she was a long time member of The Memphis Jazz and Blues Club as well as the Hot Cotton Jazz Club. She loved the fine arts in every form, especially music and dancing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Borenstein in 1980 and by her mother, Berta Fest in 1984. Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Fireside Chapel, with the visitation preceding from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Memphis Union Mission, P.O.
