Tommy Clayburn LaRoe's Obituary
In loving memory of Tommy Clayburn LaRoe.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tommy LaRoe, a beloved father, grandfather, and proud Army veteran, who passed away on January 25th at the age of 76. While his family mourns his loss, they find comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved wife of 45 years, Peggy, whom he grieved deeply since her passing in 2022.
Tommy honorably served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of dedication, courage, and resilience throughout his life. His service was a source of pride, and he carried those same principles into his role as a husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving children, Ben, Renee, Robert, Wendy, Hank, Shelia; Sheila, and Michelle: 18 precious grandchildren and 22 precious great-grandchildren.
Beyond his military service and commitment to family, Tommy found joy in gardening, collectibles, and farm animals. Whether sharing stories, mentoring on life lessons, or simply being present for those he loved, his kindness and wisdom touched many lives.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on February 12th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. for visitation and 11:00 a.m. service at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tennessee, 38119. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his love and service are invited to attend and pay their respects.
Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Now, at peace, he is reunited with the love of his life, Peggy, where they will forever walk together.
