Tina S. Gift's Obituary
Tina S. Gift, 78, of Germantown passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Schilling Gardens Assisted Living. She was a flight attendant in her earlier years for Delta Airlines, a graduate of Carson Newman College, a graduate of Memphis State where she received her Master’s Degree in Education, was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and was a teacher with the Shrine School for the handicapped-Memphis City Schools for over 20 years where she was their water therapist. Mrs. Gift was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church since 1962, was an avid bridge player and loved golf and was a member of the English Meadows Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Gift; parents, Earnest and Nina Sharp; and is survived by her daughters, Emily S. Gift of Germantown and Leslie Gift Bond and her husband, Chris of Collierville; grandchildren, Harley, Hayden and Elise Bond; sister, Agnes Vaughn of Mesa, Arizona; brothers, Bobby J. Sharp of Jefferson City, Tennessee and John Sharp of Kingsport, Tennessee. The family would like to thank the staff at Arbors of Schilling Gardens-Collierville for their excellent care they provided during Mrs. Gifts time there. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, February 15, 2013 and a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 16, 2013 both at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials to be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
