Timothy Stanfill's Obituary
Timothy Neal Stanfill, 62 of Memphis passed away July 24, 2017. He was a lifelong Memphian, graduating from Overton High School in 1972 and from Memphis State University in 1980 with a degree in Arts and Sciences and History. Timothy enjoyed reading, especially anything about Civil War History; he enjoyed the game of golf and played as a youngster and an adult. He played baseball for his church team at Eudora Baptist playing pitcher and short stop; he loved to garden and had a “green thumb”, growing flowers and veggies, proudly sharing his bounty of tomatoes with family and friends. Timothy worked for the Sheriff’s Department as a fingerprint technician and testified in court numerous times to provide exact identification verification. He leaves behind his mother Mickie Stanfill Kee; sister Jenny Stanfill Dyson; brother-in-law Gary Dyson; niece Peggy Dyson McCrary; nephew Joseph Dyson and great niece Greta Lynn McCrary. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26 from 1:30 pm until service time at 2:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. Burial will follow services in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Memphis Union Mission. “Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
