Timothy Mote's Obituary
Tim Mote, 63, passed away April 30, 2016 after a battle with skin cancer. He was born August 27, 1952 in Forest, MS. Tim was the founder of Tim Mote Plumbing, LLC, currently operated by his son. After receiving a liver transplant in 2004, the annual Taste of DeSoto Food Tasting Event was originated in his honor to benefit the American Liver Foundation. We are thankful to the family of Colt Kurkendall, whose liver made the last 12 years of Tim’s life possible. He was a member of Getwell Road United Methodist Church. Tim is survived by his wife, Janet Mote; son, Greg Mote (Liesl); siblings, Marsha Brant (Jim), Charlotte Sterling (David), Cheryl Bramlett (Don), Joseph “Jay” Conner, James “Jimmy” Mote, and Paula Bowman; and sisters-in-law, Tina Taylor and Linda Hilliard (Todd). Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. to be followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 2 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be sent to the West Cancer Clinic. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
