Thomas Vaughan's Obituary
Tomas L. Vaughan, 64 of Germantown, TN passed away on May 22,, 2013. He was born on August 21, 1949 in Searcy, AR. Tommy graduated from Central High School in Memphis, TN and graduated from the University of Memphis with highest honors with a degree in accounting. He was a CPA for 30 years, starting in a national accounting firm, before forming Rubio and Vaughan. He then became a sole practitioner until his passing. His practice was based around tax and consulting for small businesses. Tommy worked diligently and tirelessly for his clients, many of whom became long term relationships, both business and personal. Throughout Tommy’s career, he held himself to extremely high standards both ethically and morally, always doing what was best for his clients. Although being very ill, Tommy worked until the day before being admitted to the hospital.Tommy was a loving, compassionate, loyal and humble man his entire life. He was an outdoorsman and had a love for nature. He and his wife enjoyed camping with family and friends. Tommy became an avid fisherman at a very young age. He would spend countless hours fishing with his brother, father and grandfather at the Little Red River and Greer’s Ferrry Lake in Arkansas. Tommy passed his passion for fishing onto his daughters and grandchildren. They all have very fond memories of spending countless summers at Greer’s Ferry Lake fishing, swimming, skiing, tubing and just being together at the lake and condo in Fairfield Bay, AR. Tommy also loved animals, particularly dogs. Annie, his West Highland Terrier, was a loyal companion to him. Tommy loved and adored his wife, daughters and grandchildren. His grandchildren meant the world to him and were always able to put a smile on his face. Tommy will never be forgotten and will live in his family and friends’ hearts forever.Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Lamar Vaughan; mother, Betty Faith Vaughan; grandparents; Alec Marvin Faith and Mary Ada Faith; Odie Frank Vaughan and Bernice May Vaughan. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mary Vaughan of 42 years; brother, Dennis Alan Vaughan; aunt, Mary Faith Garner; daughters, Laura Vaughan Howell (Lowry); Karen Elizabeth Jeter (Andrew); grandchildren, Abby Williams, Allison Williams, Hannah Grace Howell, Kate Jeter, Caroline Jeter and Hudson Jeter. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28th at 11:00 A.M at Memorial Park on Poplar Avenue, with services to follow at noon.
