Thomas D. "Thano" Nicklas' Obituary
Thomas D. “Thano” Nicklas, 86, passed away June 20, 2013 at Baptist Trinity Hospice House. He was born on February 10, 1927 in Memphis, TN. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired restaurateur and the previous owner of a Memphis landmark, Bill and Jim’s Restaurant on Madison Avenue. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary E. Nicklas; three children, Maria Russell, Christy Cornett, and Bill Nicklas (Kelly); and six grandchildren, Will and Nick Russell, James and Mary Kaitlyn Cornett, and Thomas and Taylor Nicklas. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, June 23 and funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 24 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Burial will follow.
