I am the Activity Director at Ave Maria Home and I was fortunate to meet Mr. Tommy while he was at Ave Maria Home. We became buddies right off and he was always good for a smile or laugh when I needed it. One morning after his shower, Mr. Tommy came out into the hearth area all dressed up and he stuck out his hand to shake mine, except he always did as my daddy did, he started swinging my hand. I said "Woohoo, don't you look good" and he said "if you can't look good when you get up, then there's no reason to get up" and smiled real big; I agreed. I will always remember this quote from Mr. Tommy and will remember his big smile and love for Notre Dame. He will be missed.
