Thomas Parks' Obituary
THOMAS E. PARKS passed away on July 1, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 2, 1926 in Fayette County, Tennessee to Aubrey and Kate Parks. He served in the United States Navy in WWII, where he participated in combat, piloting landing crafts that delivered troops to island beach heads in the Pacific theater. Upon his honorable discharge from military service, he returned to Tennessee where he met and married Bettye Shamblin Parks. He worked for South Central Bell for many years before starting his business, Mid-South Pest and Termite Co., Inc. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Scottish Rite, of which he was most proud. He was happily married for over 50 years until the death of his bride in 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Tommie Parks Horne, and her husband, John, his three wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, Brant and Caroline Horne, Dr. K.C. and Kathryn Horne, and Lindsey and Will Renovich. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, John, Charlie, Kristopher, Isabel, Parks, William and Price. Memorial Park is handling his funeral and burial services. He will be deeply missed, but he will be remembered for a life well lived.
