Thomas Allen Oswalt's Obituary
Thomas A. Oswalt (75) passed away at 2:10 on November 2, 2015. Thomas was born on the 20th of February in the year of 1940 in Kosciusko, MS. Known by many as “Big Tom,” Thomas lived a very full life in which he was a caregiver to all. For many years, Big Tom danced with the Bop Club and participated in Cotton Carnival. He also had a passion for studying the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. Along with studying war history, Big Tom collected artifacts from and studied Native American culture in order to connect to his ancestors. Big Tom retired from the Tennessee Air National Guard after many years of faithful service. Tom is survived by his wife, Ann M. Oswalt of Memphis; son, D. Scott Oswalt of Nashville; daughter, Sandra Jeter and husband Oscar of Southaven; and daughter, Suzanne Lawrence and husband Tim of Southaven. Big Tom is also survived by five grandchildren; Eric Thomas Jeter of Chattanooga, Spencer King of Georgia, Eva E. Jeter of Southaven, Gwyn Lawrence of South Carolina, and Alora Ann Oswalt of Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 am, Friday, November 6 immediately followed by funeral services at Memorial Park Funeral Home.The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119. “Honoring Lives Behind the Stone Wall.”
