Thomas Malloy's Obituary
Thomas M. Malloy, Jr., “Tom”, 65 passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at approximately 4:00AM at Methodist Germantown Hospital. Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Malloy, his mother, Margaret M. Malloy (nee Ford), and his siblings, Brian Malloy and Kimberly Boczar (nee Malloy). Tom is survived by his loving wife, Nancy J. Malloy (nee Koch), devoted son, Sean T. Malloy and daughter-in-law Emily N. Malloy (nee Brettell), and his beautiful grandson, Robert J. Malloy. Tom was larger than life and was so well-loved by all for his big heart, kindness to animals, and incredible sense of humor – he could make anybody smile and laugh with his quick wit. He was also well-known as a barbeque master who routinely deep-fried Thanksgiving turkeys for his neighborhood friends. He was an incredibly hard worker who had just retired after 44 years of computer programming as well as designing, implementing and continuously improving mainframe computing systems working for Unisys and then Methodist Hospitals, which was where he was last employed. He was just easing into retired life when he left us and was so fortunate to have spent time with his grandson Robert who was born this past August and who was the apple of his eye. He was the most wonderful man in the world, and we will all miss him tremendously. Rest in peace Tom.
The family will welcome visitors from 11:00AM-12:00PM on Monday, September 21st at the Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in the Peabody Room. A graveside service will follow at 12:30PM.
