Dr. Thomas Edward Keeton's Obituary
KEETON, THOMAS EDWARD Dr., 83, retired Dentist, died Sunday July 25th, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Keeton and Elizabeth Fannin (Chipley) Keeton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette (Gulick) Keeton, his children Linda Keeton Roberson, (Cursey), Thomas Edward Keeton, Jr., (Nancy), four grandchildren, Hallie Roberson, Ashley Keeton, Nicole Keeton Lipsey (David), and Thomas Edward “Trip” Keeton, III. He attended the University of the South (Sewanee) in 1945, University of Louisville, 1945-1946, Southwestern College (Rhodes) in 1947. He received his BS degree from Memphis State University (University of Memphis) in 1949 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee in 1952 where he was an instructor for a year, then in private practice for 44 years. He was a member of the American Dental Association, Tenn. Dental Association, Memphis Dental Society and the Richard Dean Odontological Society. He served in the United States Navy during World War II having completed his training as an Aviation Cadet (V5). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, United Cerebral Palsey of the Mid-South or to the charity of the donors choice.
