Thomas Lee Jones' Obituary
Thomas “Tom” Lee Jones, age 76 passed away peacefully after a brief illness, Sunday April 13, 2025 at home in Memphis, TN. He was born in Jackson, MS but grew up in Forest, Ms. After receiving his Doctorate in Pharmacy in 1971 from Ole Miss University, he worked in numerous pharmacies including Tupelo, Batesville, Forest, Senatobia and retired from Walgreens in Memphis, Tennessee.
He married the love of his life, Jamie M Jones on October 27,1979 and for 45 years their love was still strong.
Tom will be remembered for his love of his rescued fur babies, Andy and Buddy. In his earlier years, Tom and Jamie loved hiking and motorcycle riding in the Smokey Mountains. He enjoyed collecting the patches of the trails they had accomplished. He was also a member of MSSA Gun Club where he enjoyed target shooting and sitting around the table visiting and telling jokes to his buddies. He loved people and was loved by everyone who met him and left an impression with whomever he met. He never met a stranger and was totally devoted to his family and friends. His absence will leave a missing piece of everyone’s heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claiborne Powell Jones and Katherine DeEtte Jones. Tom is survived by his loving wife Jamie Mackie Jones, his son Thomas Houston Jones, his step-son Brian L Moore; one precious and loving granddaughter Victoria Moore Ashe(Austin); one brother Dr. John Jones(Susan); three nephews John Brian Jones his two boys; William Powell Jones (Lora) their four children; Thomas Fowler Jones; a special cousin Oleta Thomas(David); and a host of other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 10:00AM in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
