Thomas T. Hill's Obituary
“Thomas T. Hill, born May 28, 1929, in Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, in Lakeland, TN.
He was the beloved husband of Brenda Hill, father of Kerrye Threkheld, Talmadge L. Hill, and Thomas David Hill, brother of Norma Flowers and grandfather of Brody Hill and 10 other grandchildren. He was also the proud great-grandfather of 10 great-grandchildren.
Tommy was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He was a chairman and corporate founder of Hill Services Inc. He was a Christian, a Marine, an officer of the Memphis Police Department, a member of the Tennessee State Guard, a master plumber, and chairman of the Memphis and Shelby County Plumbing Advisory Board. He was the founding chief of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Volunteer Reserve Division and served for 12 years. He was also the superintendent of Shelby Farms Park for 12 years. Tommy was a charter member of the Economic Club of Memphis and a Rotarian.
Tommy was an avid kayaker who found joy in kayaking on the Wolf River. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to explore the beauty of nature.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, 6489 Mullins Station Rd, Memphis, TN 38134. Contributions made in Tommy's memory will honor his love for the park and its preservation.
Tommy will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
