Thomas Griffin's Obituary
TOM GRIFFIN, 84, died December 3, 2010. The family will receive friends Monday, December 6 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, and from 12 noon until service time at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 7 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Griffin served our nation with the United States Navy Air Corps during WWII, was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church since 1954, and a gifted writer who worked for several Agricultural Publications in the area, as well as the United Press. His writing took him around the world while working for the Cotton Trade Journal. He worked for Little Publications later in his career. Mr. Griffin leaves Virginia Griffin, wife of 61 years; daughter, Diane Lemmon and her husband, Todd of Carrollton, MS; son, Steve Griffin of Memphis; sister, Peggy Cogswell of Black Mountain, NC; brother, Roland Griffin of Shawnee Mission, KS; grandchildren, Rachel Renee Maitland, Rebecca Griffin, Danny Townsend, Andy Lemmon and Gracie Lemmon; and great-grandsons, Miles and Alex.
