Thomas Glenn Carpenter's Obituary
Thomas Glenn Carpenter Jr., born December 25, 1962, in Gainesville, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2024, in his home in Arlington, Tennessee. He was the beloved son of Dr. Thomas Glenn Carpenter and Oneida Carpenter, and the cherished brother of Debra Carpenter.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Oneida Carpenter, his sister Debra, and his nephew Elijah Carpenter Moore. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Carpenter, his children Shawn Spendlove (Brandy), Madison Thomas (Winstin), Cara Carpenter, and Kamryn Carpenter, as well as his grandchildren Chanler and Charlie Spendlove and Palmer Thomas. He is also survived by his niece Claire Robinson.
Glenn dedicated over 40 years of his life to FedEx, where he earned several Five Star Awards, exemplifying his dedication, leadership, and enthusiasm in Global Freight Movement.
He was an avid outdoorsman, with a deep love for golfing, duck hunting, and fishing in his backyard pond. He loved watching the Memphis Tigers play, enjoying live music, and spending time at the beach. A skilled handyman, Glenn could be found tinkering in his garage and working on his latest DIY project.
Glenn was always the life of the party and a friend to call on. He had a great sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a funny story to share. Glenn had a knack for making friends wherever he went and treasured the connections he made throughout his life. He was a man of great generosity and compassion, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. His kindness and selflessness touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Glenn will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his love for life, and his ability to brighten any room with his presence. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Memorial Services are to be held on Tuesday June 11, 2024, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, Tn 38119. The family invites friends to gather for visitation starting at 11:00am that same day.
