Theodore John "Ted" Werner's Obituary
Theodore John “Ted” Werner, 67, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Orlando, Florida, while on vacation with four of his grandchildren. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on June 2, 1942, Ted was the second of four sons of William Werner, Sr., and Martha Probst Werner. As a boy he was an enthusiastic baseball and football player. He graduated from Catholic High School in Little Rock in 1960 and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1965. He married Kathleen Eleanor Burke and have been residents of Memphis and Germantown since 1968. Ted was a manufacturer’s representative for several fabric companies. He was an avid golfer, a Notre Dame football fan and especially enjoyed spending time with this family and friends. He always had a word of encouragement, a ready hand to help, a joke or a good story to tell. He loved life!! His family meant the world to him. Referring to each of them and adding a long list of great friends, good neighbors, and fine work associates, he frequently called himself the luckiest man in the world. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Kathleen of Germantown; his daughters, Mollie (Tarik) Moudden of Marietta, Georgia, and Jennifer (Robert) Carter of Cordova, Tennessee; his son, TJ (Katie) Werner, Jr. of Memphis; his grandchildren, Beth, Jenna, Teresa, Nathan, and Colin Carter and Reed Werner; and his brothers, William L. (Charlene) Werner, Jr., of Spring Lake, Michigan; Robert (Dudy) Werner of Little Rock; and James (Beth) Werner of Little Rock. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, (901) 767-8930?. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 2425 South Germantown Road, Germantown, 901-754-7282. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
