Theodore F Boyer's Obituary
Theodore F. Boyer, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Ted was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on January 16, 1933 to Wilmer and Jean Boyer. The family moved to Danbury, Connecticut where he lived until, at the age of 17, he joined the Navy. Ted served aboard the USS New and was honorably discharged in 1953.
He enrolled at the University of Massachusetts to study Hotel and Restaurant Administration. Following graduation his career path spanned twenty years with the Marriott Corporation in Washington, DC and 9 years with Dobbs Houses in Memphis.
Following retirement, he and his wife, Katherine, traveled the world. When they weren’t on a ship, train or a bus Ted was busy in his workshop, enjoying time at their cabin on Woodland Lake, and having fun with family and friends. He believed one should ‘live every golden minute to the fullest’.
He will be deeply missed by Katherine, his wife of 42 years; his brother, Wilmer (Barbara); two sons, Ken, and Tim (Barbara); four grandchildren, Michelle Kennedy (Jonathan), David, Christina, Nick; and four great grandchildren, Alexis, John, Christina, and Julia Kennedy and his many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne; baby son, Teddy; and his sister, Jean Andros.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer when members of his family can attend. Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
