Thelma Sehnert's Obituary
Thelma Neel Ainslie Sehnert, 86, lifelong Memphian Thelma Neel Ainslie Sehnert passed away Saturday, August 14. “Thelma Neel” was a graduate of Memphis Technical High School, a parishioner at St. John’s Catholic Church and a volunteer at the Lichterman Nature Center and the National Ornamental Metal Museum. Her father, Howard Ainslie, had pioneered local river tourism with the “Prairie Schooner”, an excursion predecessor to the Memphis Queen. She is survived by a brother, Jack Ainslie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and sons Cay Sehnert, Michael Sehnert and Ralph Sehnert of the Los Angeles area. Other survivors include grandsons Mark Sehnert of Memphis and Connor Sehnert of Los Angeles, and great-granddaughters Elise Sehnert and Lillyan Sehnert of Memphis. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
