Teri Jankowski Trotter's Obituary
Teri Jankowski Trotter was born on April 19, 1971 in Silver Spring, Maryland to Madaline (Grunert) and Leonard Jankowski. She attended St. Louis School, St. Agnes Academy, and the University of Memphis. Teri married Brad Trotter on October 22, 1994. She worked at Morgan Keegan as a sales assistant and most recently as a realtor with Marx-Bensdorf. Teri founded and directed the Drama Club at St. Louis School and provided many children the opportunity to participate in numerous stage productions. In 2014, Teri was inducted into the St. Agnes Hall of Fame. She is the founder of the Pink Wig Project, a non-profit charity with a 3-fold mission: to provide a free pink wig to any cancer warrior so they do not feel defined by cancer, to increase awareness of the importance of genetic testing, and to raise money for cancer genetic research. The motto of the Pink Wig Project is “Don’t Let Cancer Rule: Live Your Life”, and Teri lived this motto to the fullest. She provided love and encouragement to many cancer survivors through her example as a feisty fighter. She tackled her treatments with courage, dignity, and an innate ability to make it all look easy, which it certainly was not. Throughout her life, Teri exuded love, selfless care for others, a passion for music, and a sensational sense of style. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend who will be missed beyond words though she leaves an eternal legacy. She is preceded in death by her father Leonard Jankowski. She is survived by her husband Brad, daughter Lanie, son William, mother Madaline Jankowski, sister Andi (Dennis) Johnson, brothers Alan Jankowski, Paul (Sandra) Jankowski, Dale (Kate) Jankowski, Michael Jankowski, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, loving in-laws and friends. Visitation is on Monday, June 18 from 5:00-8:00pm with a rosary at 8pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 19 at 1:30 pm at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1695 Central Avenue in Memphis. Come dressed to celebrate Teri’s life…pink is good! In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pink Wig Project (www.pinkwigproject.org/donate or to The Pink Wig Project, PO Box 241963, Memphis, 38124).
