Teddy Ray "T.R." Smith's Obituary
EDMON TEDDY RAY “T.R.” SMITH passed peacefully on February 21, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, into the arms of our Lord, at the age of 81. He was born December 2, 1931 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. He is surviived by his wife, Bettye, of over sixty years; two sons, Mike and his wife, Frances, Phillip and his wife, Victoria; and one daughter, Audrey Ellen and her fiance’, Chuck. Ted was also loved by his eleven grand-children and one great-grandson. Ted enjoyed a full life with a career in banking and real estate for many years. He was an avid bowler with the same league for over 57 years. He liked to garden and fish and was always spending time with family and friends. He served in the Korean War between 1951-1952, was wounded and won the Purple Heart and other medals for bravery. He and Bettye are members of Forest Hill Baptist Church, 3645 Forest Hill Irene Rd., Germantown, TN 38138. He will be truly missed by his many friends and family. Services will be held on Saturday, February 23 at Forest Hill Baptist Church, with a visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. and services immediately following. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Forest Hill Baptist Church.
