Taylor D. Morse's Obituary
TAYLOR D. MORSE III, 73, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2014. He was born on August 19, 1940 to Louise and Taylor Morse who preceded him in death, as did his wife of 52 years, Mary Styers Morse. He is survived by two sons, Taylor IV (Leah Anne) and Barry (Lynn) Morse, and a daughter, Heather Locke. He also leaves eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and his sister, Carolyn Morse and brother, Steven Morse. He worked for the FBI, AT&T, and retired from the Illinois Central Railroad, where he was head of Communications. Taylor was active at the Germantown Baptist Church where he and his wife worked with the Awana program for many years. He and his wife taught Sunday school for 15 yrs. He was also a King’s Sons and participated in various activities at the King’s and Daughter and Sons Home and was President of the Foundation Board prior to his last illness. He was also Treasurer of The Tennessee Branch of that organization. Taylor was a member of the Morse Society and was former Editor of its newsletter. Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m., Friday, August 8 and funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 9 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to: Life Choices, Inc., P.O. Box 806, Cordova, TN 38088-0806. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
