Taylor D. Morse's Obituary
Taylor Dumont Morse, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 19, 2010. He was a veteran of WW II, where he served as a paratrooper in the 505th Parachute Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. He participated in operation ‘Varsity’, the last major parachute assault of the war. He was awarded a Bronze Star with a Bronze Arrowhead for his actions in this battle. He was ordained as a Deacon at Malcomb Avenue Baptist Church in 1957 and served many years as Treasurer of that church. He retired from Self Service Equipment Company in 1971 and later retired from Morse Manufacturing Company, where he was President. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Louise Davis Morse. He is survived by their children, Carolyn A. Morse, Taylor D. Morse III and Steven D. Morse. He also leaves three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21 from 5-7 p.m. and a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 22 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
