Tamara Lee Barnes' Obituary
Tamara Lee Barnes, 67, of Memphis, TN, passed away on July 25, 2026.
She was born March 25, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jesse Matthews and Barbara King.
Tamara grew up in Memphis and spent her career in the auto body industry, working for years as an appraiser. Known for her dedication to her work, she formed lasting friendships with coworkers throughout her career. She loved her family, spending time in the country, and gathering with friends — several of whom she'd known since elementary school.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara King; sons Jake Meeks (Emily) and Eric Barnes (Brittany); grandchildren Max Meeks and Mia Barnes; brother Bart Matthews; stepmother-Harriett Matthews; and half-brother Ty Matthews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Matthews; brother, Jesse Matthews; and grandson, Justice Meeks.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue in Memphis. A private entombment will be held at a later date.
