Sylvia Eaton Wall's Obituary
SYLVIA CORNELIA SEAWRIGHT EATON WALL, 90, went to be with her Lord February 14, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Eaton Saunders Jones (John Paul). Sylvia was born in Tippah County, Mississippi to Aubrey Seawright and Zeda Epps Faulkenbery Seawright. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Eaton Sr., and two sons John Thomas Eaton Jr. and Timothy Ward Eaton. She is survived by two daughters Sandra Eaton Saunders Jones (John Paul), Beth Eaton Washington (Jack), and 3 sons, Dennis Craig Eaton, David Bron Eaton, Steven Shawn Eaton (Lisa), 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Harriet Anne Eaton Morris and her sister Mary Louise Hooker (Clyde). Sylvia was a loving mother and grandmother who spent most of her time with her family and grandchildren teaching them about the Bible and her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also loved to spend time at the lake greeting deer early in the morning and again at dusk as they came to feed, calling them her angels. As Sgt. Joe Friday on Dragnet would say, give me the facts mam, just the facts. Sometimes the facts are not enough to tell you about a persons life. Sylvia and John Eaton raised 7 children and told us that we were the smartest and the funniest children in the world. Apparently they were correct, as we have spent the rest of our lives trying to top each other. Sometimes smart is not so smart. Our mother taught us many things that would benefit us later in life.Such as, the tiniest switches, which she made us go out and pick for ourselves, really do sting the most. That was a good lesson. She also refused to take sides in any dispute or misunderstanding between her children or anyone else. That was because she had the big picture and tried to share it with all When our father died, it was impossible to believe because he was the star of every sport and had a Bombastic Bushkin personality to go along with his unbelievable sense of humor. He was FUNNY.Our mother was the quiet one. Who knew you could miss the silence, such sweet silence. She died on Valentine’s Day. Next year we wont need to look for such a big Valentine card. There are many other qualities our mother had that we could talk about, but everybody that knew her knows what they are. The Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 3245 Central Avenue, at Greer, with internment following at Memorial Park. The family requests that Memorials be made to The Church Health Center http://www.churchhealthcenter.orgwww.churchhealthcenter.org of Memphis, Tennessee.
