Sybil Weatherford's Obituary
Sybil Weatherford, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Coldwater on February 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 11, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee, Sybil was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Elberta Akins. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Weatherford; her parents, Thomas and Elberta Akins; her brothers, Tommy and Terry Akins; and her sister, Rita Bunn.
She is survived by her son, Richard Weatherford (Baylee); her daughter, Lisa Williams (Tommy); her sister, Roseandra Johnson (Mickey); her granddaughters, Jessica Tenbusch (Keith) and Samantha Weatherford; her grandson, Matthew Williams; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Addie, Adelaide, and Aria.
Sybil was a loving and devoted wife and mother who opened her heart and home to many children throughout her life. She had a special gift for nurturing others, offering comfort, guidance, and steady love to all who crossed her path. Affectionately known as “Nana” not only to her grandchildren but to many who knew her, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and compassion
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7, 2026, at Christ Community Baptist Church, 850 Peterson Lake Rd, Collierville 38017. Visitation will be from 1:00–2:00 p.m., with the service to follow.
Her family finds peace in knowing that her love will continue to live on in each of them. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
