Sybil Dyches' Obituary
Sibyl Nancy Dyches, 98, a resident of Kirby Pines retirement Community Memphis, TN passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013.Born on October 1, 1914 in Springfield, SC, the daughter of Charles Alton Smith and Mozelle Hutson. Sibyl grew up in Springfield, and graduated from Springfield High School. She received a BA degree in Language from Anderson College in 1935. She married her high school sweetheart Ken O. Dyches in March 1936. For the next 30 years she was a military spouse of a U.S. Navy Medical Corps Officer. Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Kirby Pines Retirement Community and traveled throughout the United States and Canada for ten years in a Minnie Winnie RV.She is survived by son Denny Dyches of Beaufort, SC, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Kenlem Obonner Dyches and a son Ken Barry Dyches. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 10, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
