Suzanne Lowe Wilke's Obituary
Suzanne Lowe Wilke passed away Saturday, September 7 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Bremer Wilke, her daughter, Sloane Lowe Wilke, her Grandson, Adam Harrison Reed and her Granddaughter, Tatum Maris Reed; her Brother, Dr. Gideon Harris Lowe, III (Michelle); her Sister, Sarah Lowe Scoggin; her Nephews Milton Oliver Scoggin, IV (Katrina Surprenant Scoggin) and Gideon Lowe Scoggin (Carly Brown Scoggin) and her Great-Nephews Wilson Lowe Scoggin and Gideon Denton Scoggin; and, her Sister-in-Law Letitia Wilke Woodman. She was predeceased by her Brother-In-Law, Milton Oliver Scoggin, III; her parents, Gideon Harris Lowe, Jr. and Lelia Mae Lowe. Born in Cookeville, TN November 24, 1946, she graduated from Cookeville Central High School where she excelled in Academics and Fun! She graduated with a BA from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville where she was involved in many clubs and Social Activities. She earned her Masters degree in Education at Vanderbilt University. After a career in Teaching in Memphis, she turned to her later career where she wrote Children’s books, earning several awards for her writing skills. She retired to raise her daughter and to enjoy her family and many friends. The Memorial Service is Sunday, September 22 at St. Georges Episcopal Church in Germantown with the Visitation and light refreshments at 2:30pm and the Memorial Service at 3:30pm. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
