Suzann Katherine Thompson's Obituary
Suzann Katherine Thompson of Germantown, TN passed in to the arms of her heavenly Father on October 12, 2017. Suzann was born in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Wilma Kennedy. She was raised in an Irish Catholic family and this heritage contributed to her strength and stubborn determination to face the many challenges of her life, including her final battle with cancer. Suzann was a talented artisan and created innumerable clothing items, purses, and woven tapestries that were labors of love to the people who received them. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She recorded her trips through beautiful photographs and decorated her home with these photos to remind her of the many wonders that God created on this earth. Suzann was predeceased by her husband John F Thompson, sister Mary Blazey, and special niece Nancy Blazey Wilkinson. Suzann leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law Eric and Teresa Thompson, daughter and son-in-law Stacey and John D. Gumbel, sister Beth (David) Wasserbauer, grandchildren Parker, Anna, Evan, Caitlyn, Andrew, Cameron, and Olivia, and numerous special nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit, Memphis, TN with Mass of Christian burial following at 11:00 AM. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Special thanks to the staff of Methodist Hospice Residence for their love and care during Suzann’s illness. “We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love”. Saint Mother Teresa
