Susie H. Malone's Obituary
Susie H. Malone, 94, of Memphis, TN passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Signature Health Care. Mrs. Malone was born February 4, 1915 in Mississippi.She graduated from Sumner High School in 1936 and Oxford Nursing School in the fall of 1939. Mrs. Malone married H. Buel Malone of Oxford September 30, 1939. They moved to Memphis in 1943 and she worked as a Registered Nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Malone adopted Michael B. Malone on August 13, 1950. She worked at Thomas H. Allen TVA Steam Plant until her retirement in 1980. After her retirement, she enjoyed family, friends, traveling and dancing.She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. H. Buel Malone, who passed away March 20, 1995 at the age of 80.Mrs. Malone is survived by her son, Michael B. Malone and daughter-in-law Kathy; a grandson, Michael D. Malone, a Memphis Police Officer; a sister, Marguerite Lunceford of Belzoni, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.The family will receive family and friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The graveside funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16 at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford, MS.
