Susan W. Laurenzi's Obituary
Susan Walters Laurenzi, 71, of Memphis was met and embraced by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Susan was born in Meridian, Mississippi on August 4, 1945. Susan moved to Memphis with her parents as a young child. She attended and graduated from Germantown High School in 1964. Soon after high school, Susan met the love of her life, her dance partner in marriage for 50 years, Joseph W. Laurenzi. Susan, better known as Noni, was a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Susan was a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved cooking, sewing, reading and traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with and spoiling her family. This couldn’t be more evident than during the Christmas holiday season…..her most favorite time of the year. Always cheerful, thinking about and placing others before herself, Susan was truly a beautiful and wonderful person. Susan will be remembered by her ever-present warm smile and her soft, gentle and caring voice. Her honest and sincere love is a true testament to her faith in God. Susan was a true believer in every sense of the word.Susan W. Laurenzi was predeceased by her parents, Garlon and Lucille Walters. She is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Laurenzi; son John Laurenzi (Kelly) of Thousand Oaks, California; daughter Angela Zimdars (Paul) of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter Amy Cain (Chip) of Franklin, Tennessee; son Joseph G. Laurenzi (Missy) of Memphis; brothers Byron Walters (Nancy) of Lake Havasu, California; Thomas P. Walters of O Fallon, Illinois; James I. Walters (Laurie) of Memphis, Tennessee.Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Sunday November 27, 2016, 6:00pm – 8:00pm.Funeral Services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4851 Park Avenue, Monday November 28, 2016, 10:00 am.
