Susan "Suzi" Elizabeth Adams' Obituary
Susan “Suzi” Elizabeth Adams was born July 17, 1954 and passed from this life July 1, 2022 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. With a heart as big as Texas and a smile that could light up any room, it is Susan’s sweet spirit that stays with us – peaceful, free, and full of love.
From a young age, Susan possessed unique talent and passion as both an artist and academic. She loved designing and working with textiles to create clothing, purses, and accessories. Susan would often wear her own creations and make them for others, sewing each with the precision of an expert seamstress. Holidays were especially memorable with her festive custom sweaters she made for everyone.
Susan’s delight for learning and mastering subjects made her an equally excellent student. She received top honors throughout school and went on to earn bachelor’s degrees from the University of Mississippi (Home Economics) and the University of Houston (Computer Science). Susan enjoyed a successful career as a computer programmer and analyst for many years. She was remembered by colleagues for her positive energy and strong work ethic.
There were so many little things that made her uniquely Susan. She loved watching classic movies on repeat, listening to music (Adam Lambert was her Elvis), shopping, any beach, her family, and Tex-Mex. She especially loved her roles as “Susu” to Ainsley and Owen, and mother to Cara. But the best qualities about Susan were within her all along. We were so fortunate to see that loving, bright, happy woman and mother one last time.
Susan is predeceased by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Franks, Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Gaines; and her beloved fathers, Morris Adams and Dr. Don Gaines. She is survived by her mother, Sue Adams Miller; loving sister, Laura Adams Taylor; daughter, Cara (Brendan) Crawford; two grandchildren, Ainsley and Owen Wiese; two nieces, Sarah (Ben) Kahlmus and Amy Taylor. She also leaves a host of cousins to cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Michael’s House of Palm Springs, CA or your charity of choice. You can also honor her life by booking that trip, eating your dessert first, and taking a moment to tell someone how much you love them.
