Susan Bowles' Obituary
After a life lived to the fullest, Susan Bowles, 44, of Cordova, Tennessee, quietly left this world on November 7, 2020. Born to Richard and June Ruark, Susan was the youngest of her siblings: Christy (Diablo) Lopez of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Brandy (Jason) Hollihan of Loogootee, Indiana and Michael Tyson, also of Cordova, and the late Kelly Turner. She was the granddaughter of W.C. and the late Hazel Mae Ruark, and the late Hilton and Phyllis Turner. Susan was raised to be devoted to family and she excelled at it.
Susan thrived on taking care of others. She felt being an EMT was her opportunity to combine her care taking nature with a new daily adventure. It was through this job that Susan found her true love, Brian Bowles. Together, Susan and Brian formed their own blended family. The four children all survive: Brittany (Mike) Zelinka also of Cordova, Stephanie Ruark of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Kassandra “Kassie” Bowles of California, Brice Bowles of the United States Marine Corps, and their beloved fur-baby, Zoey.
Visitation with the Ruark-Bowles family will be 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. There will be no other services at this time.
