Sue E. Mathes' Obituary
Sue E. Mathes, 94, of Memphis, TN passed away on February 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim W. and Thelma Clark, and her brother, James Clark. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, M.C. Mathes, a daughter, Debbie Compton, and grand-daughter, Ashley Bowles (Gray). Sue was born in Houlka, MS where she attended high school. She later graduated from North Sunflower Junior College. She moved to Memphis where she met and married her husband, M.C. Sue retired from the Memphis Publishing Company in 1987 after 35 years as a Production Department Cost Analyst.Sue enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. An avid reader, Sue read the entire Bible for 10 years in a row. She was a faithful member of Ridgeway Baptist Church.The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with the funeral service to follow immediately at 2:00. All services will be held at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
