I am sorry to learn of Dr. Rice’s passing. I am from Mississippi and under his care for several years in the 1990s. He had a genuine interest in his patients. He will be missed. I had no idea that he played the piano. William Durham, Clarksdale, Mississippi

Dr. Rice you taught me psychiatry but there was so much more I learned from you than that. I will always cherish those times just you & me driving to Mississippi. I owe you so much & I never got the chance to tell you. You are who I try to emulate everyday to the people I care for. Rest In Peace my friend.
It was such a pleasure to have worked in the past with Dr Rice !! Dr Rice so loved and cared for each of his patients and was truly one of a kind and will be so missed by us all ! Prayers for his family to stay strong at this most difficult time and to know he is in a better place now !!??????

To Anne Kathryn, Michael, and the rest of the family, Thank you for sharing your Dad with us! We were blessed to know him and have him in our lives. His love for God’s special angels, his co-workers and those he met was without question! Personally, I remember my graduation and the sentimental gift he gave me that I will always cherish. I can not say enough good things about my friend/co-worker! Such a wonderful, caring doctor and person he was. He helped so many. And, he helped me just by knowing him. I will truly miss Dr. Rice! Keeping his family and friends in my prayers.
Dr. Rice was a very special friend and I shall never forget his kind and loving spirit. I worked on the Skilled Nursing Unit at St. Francis and Dr. Rice checked in with me when on the unit to see what I was doing with the residents and would play the piano when he had few minutes of time. He gave me a CD of his piano music and I still have this CD today. Dr. Rice and I would share laughs and meals out in the community with my husband. He hosted my 50th birthday party at his home. He was always funny, engaging, and endearing. I remember one evening at dinner, he positioned a spoon on the end of his nose and balanced it with static electricity. Dr. Rice wrote a letter of recommendation for me when I applied at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare and to this day, I still have this wonderful letter, and was hired for the position. I ‘ve seen two beautiful rainbows over the last two days and thought and smiled at how Dr. Rice is keeping the angels entertained in the clouds with his music-and his sweet love. I love you, Dr. Rice, and I want you and family to know how special you were to me. Always, Susan Bradley
