Steven Phillips' Obituary
Steven Phillips of Collierville, died on January 16, 2010. Steve was born in Junction City, KS, on July 22, 1954. After receiving his Agricultural Engineering degree from Kansas State University, he worked for Halliburton in Great Bend, KS, Petroleum, Inc, in Liberal, KS, and Mac Equipment in Kansas City before moving to Collierville. For the past twelve and a half years, Steve has held the position of Engineer and Territory Manager at Airdusco, Inc. A life-long Presbyterian, Steve served as an elder at Balmoral Presbyterian Church. In pursuit of his love of cowboy-action shooting, he served on the board of the Mississippi River Rangers. Steve will be remembered for his deep devotion to his family, for his expertise in his field, for his easy smile and laugh, and for his willingness to use his considerable talent and skill to help his family and friends with any job at any time. He was preceded in death by his father Dale Philips. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon Phillips, his daughters Emily Phillips, of Atoka, TN, and Katie Phillips, of Memphis, and his mother Ruth Phillips of Carlton, KS, hi sister Dalene Judd of Collierville, TN, and a is brother Jerry Phillips and wife Jean of Austin, TX. Steve also leaves a wide circle of family, friends, and business colleagues who will miss him enormously. The family will receive friends from 5-8 on Monday, January 18, 2010, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 10:00 am also at Memorial Park. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Kansas. The family asks that any memorials be sent to the American Heart Association.
