Steven John Cox's Obituary
Steve Cox was born February 25, 1953 in Memphis, TN. He entered into heaven on March 23, 2022 surrounded by His loving family. Steve professed a faith in Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive C.M.E. under the leadership of Reverend T.C. Lightfoot.
Steve graduated Hamilton High School Class of 1971 where he was proud member of the football team. After high school, he attended State Tech studying computer technology. Steve was one of the first to be employed by FEDEX in 1973 when the headquarters relocated to Memphis, TN. He remained a dedicated employee for 35 years as a Senior Technical Analyst in the Information Technology Operations department.
Steve and Cleopatra married in April 1978 and remained faithful to each other for over 44 years. He loved being outdoors and playing golf or fishing were his top two favorite past times.
Steve was preceded in death by both his parents, Aaron W. Cox Sr. and Jeanette B. Cox; his brother Bertrand Keith Cox; sisters-in-law Fannie Coleman and Delores Marlow.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Cleopatra Cox; mother-in-law, Thelma Marlow; son, Patrick Munn (Tracy), daughter Aarika Robinson (Ca’Tron); 2 brothers, Marvin Cox (John) and Christopher Cox; 2 sisters, Jenny Pertiller (Reginald) and Gayle Cox; 2 sisters-in-law Cathryn Jordan (Gary) and Lucinda Marlow; 2 brothers-in-law Amos Munn and Freddie Marlow; and Faye Gillard (Charles) and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him immensely.
The family has entrusted his arrangements to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery; 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN. 38119
Visitation will be Saturday, April 2nd 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
