Pauline
Stevie, I am sadden that your life has ended so soon. The world and especially your extended Toten family have lost a truly gentle soul. I recall with fondness the gentle attentiveness that you gave to my mother at one of her special birthday parties. I have pictures of you laughing and talking with her. You engaged with mom (your Aunt Mae) as if you and she were the only two people in that crowded room. You shared with mom some of your special childhood memories of being with her and your dad (my special “Uncle Bill”). She enjoyed wonderful “belly” laughs with you. Your eyes were incredibly bright and your facial expressions radiated joyfulness and mom felt honored that you seemed so happy to be with her. When I later shared the pictures of the birthday event with mother, she recalled what she described as your “sweetness”. She loved you very much. Thank you, Stevie, for your special gift of somehow just “knowing” how to be truly present with your Aunt Mae. I feel certain that your sister, Lynn, and your wife, Dee, will keep the torch burning to signify their love for you. I am blessed with fond memories of your easy smile (some might say a grin)! Affectionately, your cousin, Pauline Pegram-Wargel
