Stephen William Born's Obituary
To all my family and friends,
It is with both joy and sadness I tell you at 12:28 AM this morning December 20th 2020, Steve Born went home to be with Lord. Steve was the best husband & father a wife & son could ask for. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Steve knew his greatest joy in life was family. This was apparent by his constant texts, calls & updates on both how Russell & I were doing. I know as I write this & as cliché as it sounds Steve would say “Tomorrow is not promised & everyday tell your family you love them.”
While this is a sad moment, I find joy in knowing that 2019- 2020 were the happiest days of Steve’s life. He was working at Sheffield’s, sending me constant texts about how I was an angel, perhaps his greatest joy was watching Russell graduate law school, pass the bar and then just a month ago, take a position with Harris Shelton as an associate at their law firm.
Russell & I will take time to grieve over the next days and weeks but we will get up and be honoring Steve with our lives for years to come. We honor Steve by living up to his advice he gave to Russell in a text message last year “Try your best, keep on your path, keep your ducks in a row, you can do it, stay with it, give 120 percent- Love Dad”
God Bless you Stephen William Born, The Best husband & father a wife & son could ask for.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date this summer on or near his birthday June 24th.
