It is 2024 and today is the day we celebrated together our daughter Whitney who turns 30th today and Stan’s 57th birthday! Still praying daily in reflection of the incredible life Stan lived. This week, I received the email below from a former patient of Stan’s who he served almost 20 years ago. May her memories of an incredible physician remind us of the everlasting impact Stan continues to have on us all.

Sent From Stan’s Former Patient Ashley Austin:

“I am a former patient of Dr. Stanley Anderson when he worked in Christiansburg, Virginia. I was a young 21 year old first time mother. Dr. Anderson was a blessing in my life. To my surprise, the father of my daughter left us when she turned two weeks old. Dr. Anderson was shocked by this at my 6 week check up. He offered me encouragement about my ability to provide for my daughter. He also talked to me about my mental health. He assessed and treated anxiety and panic attacks that I did not realize I was experiencing. I am now a Senior Manager in healthcare with a mission to provide access to healthcare for the underserved. I truly believe God placed Dr. Anderson in my life for a reason. I imagine this is a drop in the bucket for all the lives he touched. I know Dr. Anderson went to be with the Lord quite some time ago which saddened me. I hope sharing my experience brings you a little joy today. May the Lord bless and keep your family, always!

Today, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 marks the completion of the 3rd year of Stan being in his new heavenly life. Saturday, as I visited our Memphis resting place and listened to the birds, felt the sun beam down and just viewed the life all around Memorial Park, I could see and feel God's grace and love. I thank God for Stanley Anderson, the man that changed my life forever. God's gift of making me a help mate and teaching me through Stan how to serve, how to be a Godly wife, mother and friend is one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given. Today, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 we celebrate Dr. Stanley Anderson's life and legacy. This week on 8/14/2020, Stan and I would have been celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. The monthly flowers that would have been sent to me from Stan are in route to me this week from our precious children who have ensured the wedding anniversary flowers continue throughout the year on these special days. May God's grace, mercy and love continue to guide all who Dr. Stanley Ladelle Anderson touched. Although this year our nation is in the midst of a pandemic and everything seems so odd as everyone has face masks on and the world seems so unfamiliar, one steady unchanging hand that holds mine and guides me is God's hand and his word that led me to Stan and that developed me with Stan. I have a grateful heart for the gift of love that is truly everlasting and unchanging. A video of the sunrise and a 6 minute reading of the creation story from Genesis is below.

Sunday, August 11 marks year 2 of Dr. Stanley Anderson’s entry into his beautiful new life in Heaven. 7 days later two years ago, we held the memorial service and laid his shell to rest on 8/18 where mine will one lay beside him. Today, our family celebrates a man that was God sent to impact more lives than most of us get the chance to through his role as an obgyn and robotic surgeon, through his role as a dad of our two precious children, through his family role as a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend and his impact through his role as a husband that was beyond any dream a woman could have. Stan’s impact lives on through all of us and every child I interact with as an educator is a child I see as God sees them and I envision what would “Young Stanley” (as his former high school teacher Mrs. Suitor referred to him in 2017 as she spoke) need me to do or say if he were the child in front of me or what would he say if he was the educator speaking to the person in front of me. Stan is still the most gentle, kind, loving spirit I have met and he continues to bring us joy as we use today to reflect on the many great things he did while on earth. We are thankful for having our lives so enriched and Sunday as we worship, we will give our thanks to the Lord who blessed us with a wonderful man who reflected the spirit of Christ in all of his actions and who would say he could hear the soft whisper of Christ in his ear. May Stan’s kind and beautiful spirit be reflected in our actions as we remember his impact and love for others. It is why our marker stone at Memorial Park has the quote of John 15:12 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

Today, August 18, 2018 marks one year since the celebration of life service in 2017. My dear husband is missed by many. Today as we visited the cemetery with family we remember a life well lived and everlasting life still being lived. Such a precious soul, friend and my soulmate. Happy birthday Stan as you mark the first year of your new life August 11, 2017. Happy 25th wedding anniversary to the man of my dreams. We celebrate you on the day of the celebration of life service last year and we will continue sharing the love you shared with us with others. We thank God for the gift of Dr. Stanley Anderson to us all.

Regretfully, I just found out about Dr. Anderson’s passing about an hour ago. I saw him as my OB/GYN for years. With unsurpassed compassion and devotion, he saw me through two very difficult pregnancy losses. After having such an amazing patient/physician relationship he selflessly advised that with my history and reproductive health diffficulties that it would be best if I saw a different physician with a specialty in infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. With that advisement I was able to have my daughter. After the second loss he saw me through, he told me that God would give me the gift of a child, that I just had to wait patiently. With those words in mind I named my daughter Azaryah; her name means “God gives”. I truly regret that I didn’t know about his passing in a more timely manner so that I could give his loved ones a very small fraction of the compassion and support he gave me when I had losses. He was a wonderful man, physician, and most of all child of God. I’m truly sorry for his family’s loss. As he told me through my losses… God will get you through this.

Dr Stan was the best dr I had. He truly cared for his patients and their safety. He delivered 3 of my 5 children. I am very grateful to have had the privilege to work with him. My condolences to the family. I could only imagine your pain. When my mother passed he was a lending ear in time of need.

I send my sincere condolences to Dr.Stanley Anderson’s family and friends.My husband and I were referred to him during my second pregnancy and the first time we met with him,we couldn’t but smile.He had a really calm and gentle spirit.He was very professional,compassionate and genuinely kind.He held my hand during labor and was very re-assuring during my surgery.I hoped he would be there next time I had an appointment until I received the sad news of his passing.
