Stacey Luane Semos' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stacey Luane Semos, 64, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished family member, and dear friend to many. She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness.
Stacey was born on March 27, 1961, in Greenville, Mississippi, where she treasured the bonds of her family, including her father, George Louis Ray, and her mother, Connie Ruth Ray. Her life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ.
For 39 years, Stacey was the beloved wife of Vasili Semos, with whom she built a life filled with joy, love, and shared adventures. Their story began on a softball field, where destiny brought them together. Over the years, they traveled near and far, exploring the beauty of the world. Stacey's love and devotion as a wife were unparalleled, she consistently put her family's needs ahead of her own, creating a home filled with comfort and warmth.
Stacey's professional journey saw her excel as a paralegal before transitioning into accounting for various corporate entities. Her determination and work ethic shone brightly in every role she undertook.
An ardent lover of golf and sewing, Stacey found joy in creative hobbies that brought beauty to her life and others. One of her great joys was spending late afternoons playing nine holes of golf with Vasili, sharing moments of camaraderie and friendly competition on the course.
She lovingly sewed clothes for her daughter Rachel in her early years, later embracing the art of quilting to craft treasured keepsakes. Stacey's artistic creations were a testament to her nurturing spirit and boundless care for others.
Above all, Stacey was a devoted mother who adored her daughter Rachel. Through her love and guidance, Rachel grew into a remarkable woman, embodying the values and grace that Stacey instilled in her. Stacey's pride in her daughter was matched only by her unwavering belief in her.
Stacey was a dedicated member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where she worshiped faithfully for 39 years. She was an active member of the church choir and found great joy in her Orthodox faith, embracing its traditions with devotion and love. She was also a member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Women’s Philoptochos, an organization to help the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church. Her commitment to her faith and service was an essential part of her life, providing her with strength, community, and a deep sense of purpose.
Stacey is survived by her sister, Terry Ray; her brothers, Lindsey Ray, and his wife Patty; Greg Ray, and his wife Courtney; Vince Ray, and his wife Shanna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her family and extended family brought her immense joy, and she held each of them close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George Louis Ray and Connie Ruth Ray. Their love and guidance shaped her into the remarkable woman she was, and she carried their spirit with her throughout her life.
Stacey's faith sustained her throughout her life, and she touched everyone she knew with her kindness and generosity. Her remarkable ability to bring comfort to others and spread light wherever she went will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
Her family takes solace in knowing that Stacey is now at peace in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though she is no longer with us, her love and legacy will endure forever in the hearts of those she left behind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Stacey’s enduring faith and compassion for others.
The family invites friends to gather Thursday April 10, 2025, for visitation at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, TN. Funeral Services will be held Friday April 11, 2025, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 11:00am 573 N. Highland St Memphis, TN.
