Sondra Tucker Williams' Obituary
Sondra Tucker Williams, formerly of Germantown, Tenn., passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Nashville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin “Pete” Williams and parents Willie Lee and Helen Wright Tucker. Sondra grew up in Clarksdale, Miss., where she attended Clarksdale High School. She graduated with a B.A. in education from Harding University, where she met Pete Williams, her husband of 38 years. While she taught junior high students for several years, her primary vocations were wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lee Ann (Chris) Williams-Maley, and her grandson, Alex Maley, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. Mrs. Williams was a long-time member of Germantown Church of Christ. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m., with the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Memphis Union Mission or a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
