Silas Reed, Jr Memphis, TNSilas Reed, Jr. 82, died February 18, 2019. He was a retired laborer (John Morrell Packing Company), farmer, and business owner.He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Barbara J. Reed, father, Silas Reed, Sr., mother, Sweet Willie Reed, four sisters, Irene Griggs, Willie Dean Floyd, Gladys Franklin, Carrie Sampson and one brother, Payton Reed.He is survived by two sons, Silas Reed III (JoVon), Bob E. Reed (Joslyn), one daughter, Ceecy Reed-Covington (Howard); three sisters, Elizabeth Jackson, Mildred Early, Una Topps; and one brother Charles Reed; six grandchildren, Silas Reed IV, Joseph A. Reed, Christofer R. Reed, Kolby N. Covington, Amiya C. Reed, and Payton B. Reed; a devoted nephew, Sylvester Reed and a host of relatives and friends.Visitation will be Friday, March 1, from 5–7 p.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue.
