Sidney Turnipseed's Obituary
Sidney Turnipseed, 76, died early Thursday morning at Baptist Hospital. Born in Potts Camp, Mississippi, he was the long time owner of Collierville Insurance Agency and four term Collierville Alderman. A man of faith. He lived before us the worthy walk described in the scriptures he held dear. He loved all babies, his farm and a good horse! A deacon in his church, he also served his community as Charter President of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce. , Treasurer and founding member of Nashoba Carriage Association and director of West Tennessee Family Solutions. In addition to his wife, Peggy, he leaves a son, Keith, daughters, Laura and Anna Elizabeth and four grandsons. A servant at heart, he took care of us all and we will honor his life by continuing that tradition of service to each other and our communities. He did all the Lord required of him: he loved justice- especially for the underdog – loved kindness and walked humbly with his God.The family will receive friends at Collierville First Baptist on Monday, July 23 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with the Memorial Service to follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. at the church.A private family burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
