Sidney Philpot's Obituary
Sidney Eugene Philpot, 92, of Memphis, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. He was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for over twenty seven years before retiring and started his own company. Mr. Philpot started Philpot Truck and Trailer Leasing and Maintenance after his retirement from Greyhound Bus Lines. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois M. Stapleton Philpot in 1970 and a grandson, Michael T. Ferguson in 1976. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ferguson Paysinger, and Linda M. Young; five grandchildren, Terrell E. Ferguson, Monica K. Lackey, Alison S. Ferguson, Roy Lynn Young, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Terri L. Poyser, Nicole M. Young, and Cody J. Young; one great-great-grandchild, Madison B. Poyser. The visitation will be held from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Friday, February 19, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
