Sibyl Elizabeth Sumner's Obituary
Sibyl Elizabeth Eskew Sumner entered heaven on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. She was 73 and a native of Greenville, SC. Sibyl was the first lady of Presbyterian Day School while her husband was headmaster for 21 years. She was also a former employee of accounting firm Watkins, Watkins, & Keenan. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former member of the Lamplighters Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Dr. Len Sumner. She is also survived by her daughter Elizabeth Sumner Wafler; a son Robert Pyor Sumner, and two granddaughters Olivia Blair Wafler and Katherine Stanton Sumner, all of Memphis. She also leaves three sisters Mrs. Ann Murphy of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Ms. Nancy Eskew, and Ms. Jean Pierson both of Atlanta, GA.The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
