Sibyl McKnight's Obituary
Sibyl McKnight passed away on April 18, 2009 at St. Frances Hospital in Bartlett.She was born to Malcolm and Myrtle Pressgrove on April 15, 1922 in Indianola, Mississippi. Mrs. McKnight was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and later Aldersgate Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was active in Sunday school and Circle. As a homemaker, she was always involved in the activities of her daughters and grandchildren.Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by James McKnight, her husband of more than 50 years.Mrs. McKnight leaves behind three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Don Patton of Harrisburg, IL; Ann and Jerry Ellis of Cordova, TN; and Lolly and Tim Jones of Oakland, TN. She leaves six grandsons and two granddaughters, Jeff Mullins of West Frankfort, IL; Shannon Morris of Harrisburg, IL; Conn Ellis of Cordova, TN; Todd Ellis of Nashville, TN; Sean Ellis of Cordova, TN; Jeremy Jones of Crossville, TN; Jessica Marx of Olive Branch, TN; and Preston Jones of Cordova, TN. She had nine great-grandsons, nine great-granddaughters, and four great-great-grandchildren.Mrs. McKnight leaves her two brothers and sisters-in law, Malcolm and Bunny Pressgrove, and Therrell and Marcelle Pressgrove. She had two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenalice and Walter Gibson, and Layuna and Earl Spears.Mrs. McKnight made her home at Applingwood Healthcare where she was the President of the advisory council and a member of the Nursing Home Olympics.
