Sibyl Modene Halford Dyer's Obituary
Sibyl M. Dyer went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, March 6th, 2014. Sibyl was born in Rutherford Tennessee on July 10, 1922. She was met in heaven by her husband Lexie Dyer, her son David Dyer, and her daughter Sylvia Jean Dyer Stanford. Sibyl worked for the Sears Roebuck Company, was a long time member of Bellevue Baptist Church, and was active in the Woodlawn Chapter of the Eastern Star. Sibyl spent most of her life in Tennessee until she moved to McKinney, Texas in 1995 to live with her daughter and son in law. In 2007 she moved to Amarillo Texas to be near her granddaughter. She is survived by her son in law George Lee Stanford Jr. of Athens Texas, granddaughter Myra Stanford Johnson and her husband Brian and great grandchild Travis Ryan Johnson of Amarillo Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Sibyl to Mission Taiwan, 1601 I-40W, Amarillo Texas 79109. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 16 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m.
